Competition opportunities

At Bayside Martial Arts all our Students regularly have the opportunity to compete in Tournaments – a place where they can put all their hard work to the test up against other competitors.

We offer opportunities to compete in Tournament circuits which involve multiple Rounds to qualify for QLD State Titles & Ultimately the Australian Titles, with further opportunities to World Titles!

We hold 2 Tournaments locally in Hervey Bay each year; one a friendly contested between Students within our own club only (great for the timid, the up & coming or practice for the more advanced) & the other being our Annual Hervey Bay Martial Arts Championships contested between our Students, Students from Regional & the City, Interstate & even New Zealand.
We also offer opportunities to compete in Tournament circuits which involve multiple Rounds to qualify for QLD State Titles & Ultimately the Australian Titles, with further opportunities to World Titles!

Bayside Martial Arts Students really look forward to travelling alternative years to our Grandmaster’s Annual Te Ashi Kai Shin Australasian Karate Tournament held in Dubbo, NSW & the I.K.A. International Martial Arts Tournament held in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Although everybody loves to win, we put a large focus on “everyone is a winner” just by turning up & having a go. If you walk away with a medal or trophy, then we will call that a bonus! We strive to see upmost respect & sportsmanship between competitors along with creating new friendships. Students often walk away saying “I had the best day today & I can’t wait for the next Tournament!”

Tournaments have divisions to suit all Students young & old, beginner or advanced. With opportunities to have fun & showcase your talent in Kata (patters/forms), Budo (Weapon Kata) & Kumite (Sparring Combat), what are you waiting for!

Whether you win or lose, valuable lessons are learned
